
The 10th edition of Africa’s most prestigious marketing awards – Marketing World Awards (MWA) organised by InstinctWave; Africa’s premium B2B events management organizations has recognised leading African brands at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra on July 2.
Over 50 outstanding organizations and individuals were recognised for their outstanding contribution in sustaining their brands for the year 2020, Africa’s Top 50 Marketing Leaders were also unveiled.
The event witnessed industry leaders from across the continent, including top brands from Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa gracing the night and sharing experience among cohorts.
Mr. Akin Naphtal, Chief Executive Officer for InstinctWave in his welcome remarks recognised how the year under review was a difficult one for brands.
“It is a difficult time for brands around the world as they seek to effectively and sensitively communicate with their audiences and customers at a time of unprecedented stress for many. 2020 has enforced the need for brands to show their loyalty to customers. In many ways, a brand’s loyalty to its consumers is tested by such times and those that are able to put a humane foot forward triumph as trustworthy brands.”
Mr. Akin also used the opportunity to launch the Brand Executive Network (BREN), a networking platform for marketing professionals.
“Brand Executive Network (BREN) is a learning, sharing and networking forum for executives in marketing, customer experience & communications. BREN is fuelled by a genuine and generous exchange of ideas and networking with peers in the industry to share exciting information, burning issues and unrestricted platform to socialize.”
The biggest night for brands and marketers saw brands including Multichoice which won the African Brand of the year, MTN wining seven awards including been adjudged the Marketing Team of the Year. Pz Cusssons’ baby moment campaign won the PR campaign of the year at the night characterise with nostalgic experience and brand networking.
Individuals’ honours were also bequeathed on exceptional leaders; Sophia Kudjordi, Group Head of Communication for the Jospong Group emerged Corporate Communications Professional of the Year; General Manager for Fanmilk West Africa, Mr. Yeo Ziobeieton was acknowledged for his outstanding contribution to the marketing industry while Imani Impressionz CEO, Muniratu Lamptey won the Exceptional Woman in Print.
